Social problems like poverty/hunger, economic crisis, war/terrorrism are easier to overcome than environmental problems like climate change. All it takes is equal cooperation among governments and citizens to eradicate or at least mitigate these problems. It's hard but it's not impossible. But the dangers posed by climate change cannot be easily reversed. Even if we all stop emitting greenhouse gases from now on, it will take hundreds of years for our nature to fully recover. And it's more likely that the human race could go extinct due to the devastating impacts of climate change than from a nuclear war.
