BTW is a mostly brilliant album; however Bad Kids/Electric Chapel/Americano/Bloody Mary are all totally unbearable.

Wow, I actually agree except I might give BTW a 4/10. It's slightly better than ARTPOP thanks to Heavy Metal Lover & Judas, and her overall best song You & I.

BTW was crafted to be huge.
Adele, the promotion, and the single choices dragged the album down.
You & I should have been the last single, thats not an easy song to follow-up.

Gov Hooker basically just operates on clinking synths and a grinding baseline. It's got a ton of other ****, but it's not too overstuffed, although it's definitely more maximalist than TFM or ARTPOP.

Hair is a song I've never understood the hate for either, it's just a big ol Cyndi Lauper jam (except not horrid like Bad Kids)

Also the "Haaaa--aa-aa-air" backing synth breakdown is ****ing killer. That's the kind of dance-metal that Gaga should've filled all of BTW with. RedOne + DJWS could make Gaga her best album, Fernando Garibay can go back to Mexico and rot

Ugh the RedOne songs had the catchiest melodies by far. Imagine if Hair wasn't actually about hair and didn't have those corny "I just wanna be me and friends to invite me to the parties" lines. I loved the lyric "I've had enough, this is my prayer". Or if Judas didn't have those abrasive versed, or if Scheiße wasn't mostly faux German gibberish
