I want to remind you the "Is P!nk Relevant?" thread and all the "No, she is just there" answers.

So explain why was she of all the "iconic" "legendary" "relevant" girls, invited to perform for the Academy, even though she doesn't have any soundtracks for a movie, which is usually why singers end up performing for the Academy Awards.
And apparantly it's advertised as a one of a kind performance.

You could say Celine was invited before, or Bette also is invited and doesn't have any soundtracks either, but Bette and Celine have been in the game twice or more as long as P!nk has, pretty much veterans.

So let me just check - she has sold about 6 million albums in a year and a half, she has a 170m+ grossing tour, she had one of the biggest hits of 2013, Woman of the Year, now she got invited by the Academy to perform, and the media went crazy about it btw and she is still "just there"?
What does she have to do? Be controversial? What is it that can justify your opinion?

The thing is that P!nk's always been an A-lister, but without seeking attention everywhere.

She is, she's huge as a musician/artist but not as a celebrity that's why I assume that some people doesn't classify her as an A-List.

She's like one of those 80's artists who had massive success but no memorability. I literally forget about her when she's not releasing anything.

just not an a list celebrity. but i like that about her. she doesnt need attention on her personal life to be huge. such a queen.
