ARTPOP is not a bad album, people think Gaga can sell albums with only 2 singles and 1 video and a couple of performances Applause, DWUW, Sexxx dreams, G.U.Y, Venus are all good dance songs but its not her best ! She needs to bring it next era thats all ! Everyone complains to much about the ARTPOP era, just listen to the music and buy a concert ticket thats all !
Well, that's your opinion if you don't like ARTPOP. Some of us do like it. I feel like people are just saying they hate it because it flopped. Remember the reactions in the ARTPOP thread when it leaked? At least 95% of the people loved it. It just goes to show that people only care about success nowadays and that's pretty sad

Most boards I read gave a really positive reception. Even a Britney forum I used to post on that was filled with Gaga hate.

I think people have a right to criticize the era. It's been a mess. There's no doubt about it. The music, though, is great. I have no problem with ARTPOP. I love the album.

I'm sorry but I actually genuinely like ARTPOP and I don't think there are any problems (besides J&D and Swine) I know you probably think I sound delusional but I love how her sound has progressed. I think ARTPOP is a HUGE step up from the disappointment that was BTW.
This is just an opinion. Nothing more. ARTPOP is a great album. How about that? It's also only an opinion. Deal with it. People have different opinions all the time.

The instrumentals on ARTPOP are fantastic. Sexxx Dreams is probably my favorite melody of Gaga's, while Mary Jane Holland is hauntingly good.
But then when you tackle on the lyrics and the vocals...Where is the evolution, Gaga? I mean her older material pre-Fame is better written than anything on ARTPOP sans Dope. And she sounded better too. Her creativity is on a slippery slope and has been ever since she started sporting pregnant bellies and teal body hair.
Maybe all Gaga needed was a little push. I definitely believe whatever she does next, regardless of how it charts, will redeem Gaga in the world of creativity. Seems like she realized she needed to refresh herself.

But Gaga's whole message and how she tried to market it was a mess. She wanted to have a mostly EDM album marketed as a "high art concept album" when a lot of the lyrics are carefree borderline dumb (just like The Fame by the way). Also the image and message she wanted the era to have didn't matched at all with the songs, like how do you want to have songs that are sexy and **** when you look like a mess (not a hot mess like she used to, just a mess) and you sound like a mess with your message (all those cringeworthy tweets, posts & interviews).
If she wanted this album to be somehow successful she should had embraced her craziness and give the GP what they wanted, her being crazy & carefree, not trying to teach how we "should behave". She needs to drop that "anti-bullying queen" persona if she wants to be appealing again. I'm not saying she should drop her efforts on anti-bullying and what she believes in, but just don't try to shovel it down our throats with the music cause aside that a lot of fans are over it, the common non-stan person are definitely over it.
