Yes I know how you felt. I know that even though I haven't experienced it. But are you really hating them after standing up for you? Like other members said, one step at a time. This is not an overnight battle. A lot will still be against it but the fact that so many people are open to gays than let's say 30 years ago, you should actually be happy for this especially for a Church to say that, that's big and pretty brave of them.
So you mean when people who were homophobic before starts to accept that gays deserve equality and should share the same rights you'd just tell them "I ****ing told you but you wouldn't listen smartass" Is that how you'll be telling them because if that's how you deal with this then no one would ever side on you. Don't you realize that? This is the problem with a lot of people, they NEVER let go of the past. You should never forget but when people are giving extra effort on actually being good to you, you let go of that hatred and welcome them.
Your logic is nothing different than ignorant people from 50 years ago if that's what your impression will be.
