The Wii U's opening year had less games than the XONE and PS4. To the point, Nintendo made Super Mario Bros U. cheaper than Super Mario Bros. Wii. The only games the Wii U had was ports from the PS3 or 360.
In the long run it will be better to own a PS4 or XONE because at least games won't get canceled for them because they can actually run the games as planned.

That's a big part of the problem.
The tech is that of the PS3 and 360 it might be part of the 8th generation but the tech is clearly 7th.
But that wouldn't have been such an issue if devs didn't back out of making games for the Wii U.
They're in a tough spot. I'll still get a Wii U in the future though.
