Yeah, she isn't really as big as some claim. "Evolution" wouldn't have done so well if not released during the big weeks of Xmas. It sold its total all in 5 weeks, which is cool she got to 1m so fast, but it kind of kills the point.

and she still did 1.3 in the US without a hot100 top 10. just like furtado didn't do as well on her second but came back witht he third. ci's done the numbers before. at her lowest US sales that's still outsold albums with the biggest hits like umbrella/ buy you a drink / and souljah boy

^ excactly. Ciara isn't some toy that JIVE can play with to sale records. They actually believe in her enough to spend big money on how her CD is packaged. People often knock Ciara because of her lacking some in vocal department but she's still managed to have 2 Platnium albums, 8 Top Singles, and is really making a name for herself.

Yeah, thats great, but again it was released during Xmas sales time, and she does have a fanbase. Considering she went platinum so fast, I expected for her to do like 1.8-2.0 and she didn't. And Xmas is also the defense for why she outsold albums that have struggled to sell. They were released at a time of lower sales. I'm almost sure Ciara would've pulled the same #'s as Rihanna and other strugglers if she hadn't gone for the smart Xmas release, because her singles did horrible compared to those you mentioned.

Tierra may be right its because of the single choices, but, the tracks chosen were some of the strongest. (excluding "LAB" ) If they had went "Get Up", "Promise", "Thats Right", "My Love", the album would've seen the stronger numbers it should've had just based off how fast it sold in the beginning.

And based on the Billboard article, "High Price" is the 1st single.

^ right. And another reason The Evolution, didn't do as well was because of the long gaps between the singles. "My Love" would have did this album so much good, I don't forgive her for not releasing it, it had radio smash all over it. "That's Right" would have also did some good, seeing how it's her classic style that got her where she is. I also think "Crush" she have been a single.

"Like A Boy" is one of her best songs IMO. it's sooo good, I just think people rather hear her "rap-singing" than actually trying to sing, that's where she went wrong on this album, she was singing to much.

but i'm almost positive "High Price" will put her back where she needs to be, and working with Danja, The-Dream, and Jasper will only better her.

Monica been friends with Ciara since Ciara was in high school, she went to school with Monica's brother Montez. That is the only reason Monica is co-signing anything about Ciara. Ciara opened up for Rihanna & T.I. which is proof she is NOT a superstar.

b*tch please. ciara co headlined with TI in the US.....which Rihanna has neva headline an arena tour in the US. not to mention Evolution outsold the umbrella album. Ciara did a few dates on rihanna's uk tour bc she was asked and wasn't going to be able to tour in the US. Plus Rihanna did well in the UK. But then again so does Kelly Rowland and Amerie so that's not saying much. First she got better reviews on that tour. second she brought an audience to that tour because they do know her and she does have hits in the UK.

that's like saying gwen stephanie isn't a star because she didn't sell as well as the first. or that mary j isn't a superstar because alicia keys is around. and i guess aaliyah was never a superstar either.
