We started from zero and at the end of the third semester, we had to be able to read and fully comprehend ancient texts, comparing dialects and so on. We were learning at a very high speed to keep up with classical philologists who had 4 lessons and 2 seminars per week, while we (archaeologists) had only 2 lessons per week (our other courses were interfering). It was a huge pressure and I still dont know how I managed to pass the exams. We were so happy and relieved when the course ended, everybody got drunk
