Jay Z and Lady Gaga could have details of their finances revealed in court as part of record executive's bitter child support battle
How much Jay-Z and Lady Gaga pay to their record labels could be made public thanks to an ongoing child support battle between a Def Jam record executive and his ex.
Abou Thiam, 34 – brother of Akon – has been given notice by Ariel Hakim to produce ‘all documents of any participation of employment with Rihanna, Young Jeezy, Jay Z, Kanye West, Chris Brown and Lady Gaga', which includes records of 'salary paid, commissions, bonuses, expenses, business tax returns, documents of business deals, evidence of gifts or loans and other compensations.'
Hakim is hoping to get a clearer picture of her ex-husband’s finances so the courts will make him pay more child support towards their daughter’s care.
Abou got into the music industry by managing the A&R for his brother Akon’s Trouble album on Konvict Muzik/Konvict Entertainment.
He signed T-Pain in 2005, and later set up Interscope-affiliated Kon Live Distribution, who brought on Lady Gaga.
Thiam oversaw the A&R for Rihanna's hit album Loud and the collaborative record from Jay-Z and Kanye West, Watch the Throne, and is now vice-president of A&R at DEF JAM records.
