Gaga was interesting and much more talented. This honestly isnt even trying to be shady. It's just the truth. Katy is just bland and I honestly fail to see how someone stating that is offensive. Gaga at least had some spark to her.

Maybe the fact that katy makes music for 5th graders and those kids eat up basic bops like roar, and all of the TD era like the candy i'm sure adults aren't saying they are fans of katy. kids find gaga wierd and so do adults katy is basically a sell out to the children demographic while gaga might not have the kids nor the adults but still won't sell out to 5th graders

You guys keep saying Gaga's talent set her apart, but look at where she is now? Did her talent go away? Let's be honest here; Gaga's entire career is built on her crazy costumes, which led to all of the hype and buzz surrounding her during her peak. But now that the smoke has cleared and no one cares anymore, she can't even scan Platinum.

Gaga IS more talented than Katy, but that wasn't the foot that she put forward to the public and was never the reason for her success.

This thread is just asking for a shade bash towards Katy.

Does it even matter? Slow and steady wins the race. I rather follow and admire someone that grows with every era and keeps getting bigger than someone that makes a huge impact and fizzles out in the span of 5 years.

Katy might not have been as big as Gaga but she was pretty damn successful and now she's one of the biggest most global pop stars out there out of 100 present/upcoming/aspiring pop stars. That says a lot.

Katy has never been able to appear more than one-dimensional, that's why she never made the kind of impression that Gaga did.

The whole I represent that Gays of the world thing. Madonna never needed to say she did, she just did. Katy just made catchy pop songs and now that Gaga's antics are played, Katy is on top.

Miley is hands down the most controversial artist since Gaga yet she's struggling to sell 2 millions albums. And Miley is a very talented girl!

@ everyone else, yes Katy is slaying Gaga right now but my question was why was Katy never able to peak like Gaga?
Also Gaga may be underperfoming but she's far from being over. Applause sold 4.7 millions WW so far and ARTPOP did okay.

I never said i didn't agree on that because it is true gaga was selling because of the antics and now it got old people want something new and she isn't delivering it's only a matter of time before it happens to katy she is delivering the same teen pop songs that go towards kids and kids will keep ur career going for a longer period. But it's only a matter of time until the kids get bored of the same colorfull bright videos and the same plain lyrics and childish songs. If gaga did what katy did then she would have lasted longer but she decided to actually do something diffrent the 2nd time around and it basically bit her in the ass i have yet to see katy do anything risque
