I really cannot agree more! The trinity of Dope, Fashion and JnD isn't as bad as some BTW songs that I will not mention fearing for my credibilty here.



Honestly, I can have ARTPOP playing in my flat with my friends around drinking or whatever and they will have good time, while with BTW they would be like - really, a song about Hair?

It really does come down to preferences though. Even though I beg to disagree that Born This Way was less alienating to the GP than ARTPOP. While Born This Way pretty much restricted her demographic to mostly the gays as opposed to her GP accessible/relatable previous smashes, ARTPOP is not any less alienating with lyrics about koons and art and pop belonging together. While the album does have a party vibe, it is nowhere near as accessible as songs like Just Dance, Paparazzi or LoveGame.

How can you guys say that TF is her worst when it has killer singles AND decent album tracks on it? That album made us love Gaga in the first place. She was making fun of pop music and culture by being witty and over the top. Now she's too ****ing serious about her sounds and visions.

The 'mess' on BTW worked. While people who want the same ******** over and over again on albums like ARTPOP filled with fillers, BTW was upfront and honest with its 'messiness' and experimented with sounds and themes no other mainstream pop girl would dare then and now.

The strength of BTW lies in its honesty which makes it way better and anthemic. ARTPOP is deluding you into thinking it's a ****ing Björk project when it's nothing more than songs about something she can't even explain (or sex). Even when you ignore the title and her vision, the songs are still trying hard to have fun instead of having fun like Heavy Metal Lover for example.

I sincerely believe she has lost it and is over.

I never got into The Fame until this year. Meanwhile, I've always enjoyed Born This Way.

TF wasn't that good beyond the singles

Even the disposable fillers like Money Honey and I Like It Rough are enjoyable. Her lyrics were funny and witty and her vocals weren't so alienating.

But the videos, her look, her starpower and charisma of that era is what helped made The Fame so incredible

Well, it alienated me for a very long time. I remember me and my two best buds bopping to Poker Face,DITD, Telephone on the radio while driving around. I also remember us switching the station when BTW came. They never played Judas here.



Also, with Applause and DWUW people started kinda feeling her again. On Jan 3 rd I was on a birthday party and there was a setlist containing 150 various songs, incl both mentioned. DWUW was easily the most played song of that night. EASILY. It had so much potential.

For me DWUW or G.U.Y. or even MANiCURE are just as accessible as JD or LoveGame.

The Fame (aside from pretty much paparazzi) is just vacuous pop music, it sounds like something Katy would be releasing now (I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but compared to what we've seen she can do, it pales in comparison)

Her screamy and shouty vocals in the Manicure verses made it offputting (to me at least). If she sang it with The Fame-like vocals it would've been accessible

Just because something is alienating doesn't mean it is less quality. Born This Way is tied in acclaim with The Fame on metacritic.
