she always did that, I loved it. She was always either in her head voice like crazy or really deep around the time she was like 17,18.

She was amazing and to have been so young her voice was so beautiful.

But Aaliyah, She was the better dancer, vocalist/singer and actress.

Rihanna is a better performer though, she has more charisma and energy (when she tries though) and stage presence.

Both are style icons in their own retrospect.

Aaliyah is better singer and clearly better dancer. Aaliyah. Aaliyah's voice was so pretty and angelic. Her tone alone was amazing. Also Rihanna does not have the range that Aaliyah had. Aaliyah had a beautiful head voice and could sing very low.
