Being a dancer is more than keeping up with your dancers.
As a pop girl if you do Choreography with back up dancers it's important to outshine your dancers, and perform the routine as if you don't need backup.
It's about your back up dancers trying to keep up with you(the popstar or performer)and them keeping up with you and complementing you as well.
I wouldn't expect a Katy fan to get that tho.
