Hello all, so I have a research paper coming up and I'm writing about the attempts to bring the Universal Health Care in America and what would it's benefits be (I'm writing why it is good)... The Obamacare seems like such a good project and law but everyone bashes it so I don't get why ...


Is anyone willing to help me with any research links or just some ideas on what I can research myself about what would the actual benefits be of a universal health care system in america and why it should be adopted over private health insurance?

I'm not asking you to do my paper but I am completely clueless as to how this part of the economy works ...

You can compare the life expectancy of Americans to other developed/(developing) countries. Additionally, with a solid healthcare system most Americans will be able to receive the medical attention that they need during their formative years. But I have a question though, a lot of other countries have the free healthcare system and people love it. But the president of the US brings Obamacare and people start DRAGGING it to the pits. Why, what are the negative effects that it has brought?

Maybe you could try looking at other countries with similar government funded healthcare systems already implemented and research what the benefits have been for them.

I think a few people said they couldn't keep the same coverage they already had? But I'm not entirely positive on it because you should be able to, and if not, the new options should actually be better. The point is, everyone who couldn't afford coverage before now can. Hence the 'Affordable' Care Act.

America is built on capitalism. Most (foreign) doctors leave their home countries to work in America because they're aware that they can charge someone $500,000 for a surgery that would otherwise cost about $1,000. The healthcare system is not regulated by the government. Given that it is privatized, firms can basically do whatever they want to do with it. With the Affordable Care Act, people being exploited by the privatized system would instead use the government one. Thus, there would be no more $500,000 surgery.

I understand, but wouldn't that bring anger among insurance companies only? Regular citizens would love that, which I think isn't happening?

I think a lot of people hate it because it's not free, like other countries. It's a step in the right direction IMO, but it should have been made free.

Another reason is because people are losing their insurance or having reduced coverage because insurance companies won't be making as much money, so they cut back. Also, some employers are cutting back hours so they don't have to provide insurance for full-time workers (full-time minimum is 40 hours).

Correct me if I'm mistaken.

I meant any link that stated a statistic, or even paragraphs of the demographics that hate on Obamacare being insurance companies specifically
