Those other two cities would be great though, but Boston needs some shine too

Like I said, with millions of people in New York every day, the city knows what to expect - better than any other US city, might I add. Also, you don't think terrorism would be an issue for DC - the nation's capital and home of the President? Or in Miami, given Cuba's proximity? And do you think anyone would DARE to touch New York in a post-9/11 world? Security would be up the wazoo, and if anyone tried it, repercussions would definitely follow.
Plus, as they say, the show must go on. London was brave through the terror rumors. New York can do it. It would be a great thing not only for this city, but for the nation.

I don't even think Miami is considering a bid

Miami has been contacted by the USOC. At this point, the USOC is keeping all bid city plans under lock and key. Miami can very well be a viable option for the summer games. I guess we'll find out in 2015 when the USOC speaks publicly.
