The lowdown: One might argue that recycling your own music is a bit on the tacky side, especially less than a year after its original release, but no one has ever accused will.i.am of having too many original ideas. So if you’ve been missing “Scream and Shout” for the six months it’s been off the radio, you’re in luck! Its post-chorus synth line pops up again here…in the same post-chorus slot. That keyboard chorus hook aside, “Body Ache” is Britney Jean at its most disappointingly generic—the moment at which the promise of Britney’s most personal record yet™ completely falls apart.
ATRL says...: "Pure forgettable basic TRASH," wrote Edge of Glory. "This is what I expect to hear from a no-name singer who had to record something to accompany a Jillian Michaels exercise DVD, not the princess of pop." lovesong loved the breakdown, but was conflicted about the lyrics, for which August suggested a rewrite: "'I want to dance 'till my knee breaks' sounds SO much better." Eternium wondered, "Why is there no negative score?" adrianbeane had a simple message: "#Justice4MyahMarie"
Best bit: "You make my body ache/You make my body ache/You make my body ache/You make my body ache" (4x)
Hallelujah you gave me FEVER and FEAR thinking Chilling with The Lord would be out before its time.
In general, you girls are doing this wrong.
Miley's first verse in My Darlin' is one of the best non-Bey moments in this entire rate.
Hands in the Air is wondrous, and Luda his verse really packs an unexpectedly emotional punch.
Basically no Miley/Gaga songs should have been out this early. Should have all been Britney Jean/Katheryn Elizabeth, and I think you all know this deep down in your hearts.
"Brightest Morning Star" is awful. "Heaven" is okay, but it's really boring. And I just threw in "Donatella" and "Mary Jane Holland" so I wouldn't seem super biased (although I really wouldn't mind seeing "Donatella" go out)
