But it has now been claimed that the pair may have faked their extravagant engagement for Kim and her family's E! reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Although the long-awaited proposal scene only hit screens in the US on Sunday February 17, eagle-eyed viewers spotted Kim, 33, wearing her glittering Lorraine Schwartz 15-carat diamond ring in the previous week's episode - 'A Surprise Engagement Pt. 1' - which aired on Sunday February 9.

It's not really surprising. Thankfully Kanye has nothing to do with how the show is edited.

1. He might have asked her privately first and then they decided they wanted to do something public.
2. Scenes for each episode of KUWTK probably aren't shot all at once, so they might incorporate later, relevant scenes from later. We don't know how much they manipulate the show when it comes to editing.

And, even if they don't manipulate it that way, it was a cute engagement and I don't think he would have gotten down on his knee without consulting her first.

This was my initial thought but I need to know what was happening in that scene before I fully agree.

I don't think there should be any reason to defend either Kanye or Kim. It's the Kardashian reality show by E! Of course everything is scripted and planned ahead

I know the original had like "KIM MARRY ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" literally with that many exclamation points, did they include that in the episode? He did also have an orchestra play her Young and Beautiful, that's legit

But the engagement episode was split into two so it makes sense she had the ring on in part 1. It's not like this show is live, I'm sure theres a script or list of topics to cover for each episode.
