Beyonce's BRIT Awards performance last night may have been a "surprise", but it still failed to get people talking on social networking sites, with her getting just as many mentions as the likes of Ellie Goulding, Lorde and Katy Perry.
However, according #brits2014, she did have the highest viewership during her performance.
Thanks to Beyoncé's performance of XO, sales of the track have increased by 96%. On the album front, it's 2008's I Am…Sasha Fierce that has seen the biggest uplift, gaining by 67%. Her latest album, Beyoncé, also gets a boost – its sales are up by 48%
The social vote certainly dominated the Twitter chatter, although @Beyonce’s performance of XO came in a close third when it came to moments in the evening that generated the biggest spikes in conversation:

Lol obviously 1D is going to be the most talked about since they appeal to the twitter generation. Plus she was the third most talked about so calling it a "fail" is doing too much.
