Carter Bays and Craig Thomas held a Reddit AMA session this week, answering fans' questions on the latest series as best they could.
And when one user asked which "famous actress" turned down the Robin role, Thomas replied: "Jennifer Love Hewitt did 'The Ghost Whisperer' instead of HIMYM!"
Cobie Smulders took over the role and has since become one of the most loved actresses in the sitcom.
