Oslo if they stay in the race (and I would love for that city to be selected).
The other candidates are :
-Kraków (Poland)
-Almaty (Kazakhstan)
-Lviv (Ukraine)
-Beijing (China)
With what's happening in Ukraine, I think they're pretty much out of the race. LGBT rights in Kazakhstan are even worse than in Russia and I don't think the IOC will want a Sochi 2.0 anytime soon, not to mention Kazakhstan is not a country powerful enough on the international level to host despite controversial policies (you can 'ignore' Kazakhstan, you can't ignore Russia and China). I don't think China will get them either, they've hosted too recently.
Basically, if Oslo pulls out, Poland will probably get them, which I wouldn't mind at all.

I wonder how things would've gone differently if the Winter Olympics this year had been held in Pyeongchang

Although, to be honest, that race looks a bit underwhelming. It lacks big hitters. The 2024 race on the other hand looks like it will be out of this world : the US will be bidding, some very strong european cities like Rome and Paris as well not to mention South Africa with the games perhaps visiting the African continent for the first time.

In that case Sochi would probably have gotten 2018. Russia never having hosted the Winter games when they're such a winter powerhouse was just not possible that much longer.

Congratz to Adelina, Yuna was amazing too
Gracie, Yulia and Polina will own the next olympics imo, huge talents.

What are you talking about?? They were cheering for everyone!
Of course they were the most excited for their own skaters, but its always like that

Rome/Paris seem pretty underwhelming to me. I like to have interesting choices.

I am not here for Krakow, they want to co-host the olympics with Slovakia - the ski resort is planned in Tatras and they want to destroy a huge area of their beautiful national park for it

I could've sworn I saw the crowd cheer after Gracie fell Chanting Adelina's name while Yuna's score was still being determined... or maybe I was just seeing things idk
I'm sure Yulia will be big next Olympics. She's uber talented but too young for all the premature media hype
Polina lives near my hometown and I share a few mutuals with her on FB Debating whether or not to add her rn

They were not cheering because Grace fell, they were cheering her on, just like Jeremy Abbott.

And, yesterday, when Mao fell, they were cheering because they tought she landed her tripple axel (just like me), because it really seemed like she did it for a second... She was fantastic today, by the way

I really do not see South Africa winning the summer games.

I agree Oslo is the frontrunner. It would be crazy to see how many medals Norway would be able to get on home soil in the winter olympics. However, I would prefer Krakow. What a beautiful winter city.

Oh, I see.
I don't understand why Mao kept trying to do the triple axel but I'm so glad she finally did it today. Even though she didn't make it to the podium, she looked so happy and when she started crying Adelina's score was inflated. No way she did better than Yuna and Mao and Carolina by that big of a margin

If not in 2024, they will get them 4 or 8 years later. The next three summer games will basically be South-Africa-USA-Europe in one order or the other. Now that South-America (Rio) got the games for the first time, the IOC is probably a bit desperate to go to Africa for the first time as well as it would implement their sporting event as truely global.

I am still pressed. Salt Lake and Lake Tahoe were both going to bid for 2022, but then the USA as a whole pulled out over a revenue agreement

Salt Lake bidding would be a waste of a bid. I don't think it would be chosen so soon.
