It's because for VIP people were paying a lot of money but the bey stage was too far away from the main stage to get a good view of the whole show
so now they've redesigned it to be closer to the stage, but it has to be lower so that the people standing behind can see, like this:

Tonights venue has a small standing space so it's not a noticeable though
