I like hiking/walking and have done it in LA.

San Fran provides the urban feel that NY gives but also has the bay. It's beautiful. The weather isn't as great as LA or SD tho. The latter truly has the perfect weather on earth.

Oh, I love San Francisco. But the prices are outrageous and I think significantly higher for average quality of life than LA. My friends pay nearly $2500/month for a studio-sized apartment in the city. The condo I was going to rent would've cost ~$3500/month for 1 bed 1 bath.

Aww don't diss Van! It does rain too much here but the natural beauty is seriously unmatched. After living in Boston I would never move to the east coast either.
