NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” had another easy time of it in the ratings race Tuesday, beating the combined tallies of its ABC and CBS competitors and retaining three-fourths of its premiere audience, according to preliminary figures.
Fallon retained 75% of his show’s premiere-night rating (5.3 vs. 7.1), a little better than the 70% hold that Conan O’Brien saw when he took over for Jay Leno in 2009 (5.0 vs. 7.1).
