explanation is mods just want to feel like they're job means something.

I dont see why they have to close offical threads for artist, its more organized that way. Its easier if your a fan of a certain artist if there is just one major thread where you can get all the updates in...

I believe this decision was taken so someone would calm the **** down or go for a vacation. You guys need to read between the lines sometimes. Just deal with it until further notice.

It was a great decision. The Main Music Forum is for RELEVANT/INTERESTING MUSIC NEWS. So many of those posts in the official threads were crap, and they were unbelievably disorganized. Plus, a lot of the newer official threads were for artists who nobody even heard of.

I actually hate the idea of official threads, so yay

at first I thought it was a good idea, but then it became way to over-populated after that

I can't lie that was part of it! Someone was taking things way out of hand!

But on the other hand, we have to really figure out which artists actually need official threads. In the meantime I couldn't discriminate and say oh, well Britney deserves one but Jordin Sparks (wtf?) does not (even though that's obvious!) because people would be outraged at the favoritism. So I just decided to close them all and we'll figure out which ones are actually necessary in the near future I assume. Perhaps your suggestions could help.

I don't think it means anything but when the forums are annoying for me to look at, I have a strong sense of disorder that I need to fix. That's what I'm responsible for (I use this phrase rather than "it's my job" since I have a real one thanks) as a moderator.

PS! They're just closed! They're not deleted! We could honestly restore any one of them that presented the need. For now though, we have to figure out which ones might need it.

I didn't want to seem biased being that I'm a fan. If everyone thinks this is legitimate I'll reopen that one.
