I'm getting 'Born to Die' and 'Paradise' tattooed in the places that Lana has 'Paradise' and 'Trust No One' on the side of her hand.

I have three. The first two I got on my 21st birthday -- two Adinkra (West African tribal) symbols on my wrists centered right below my palms that are about 1 square inch each. The one on my left is the Sankofa which means "return and get it" -- it is about learning from the past. The one on my right is the Aya which is the fern -- a hardy plant that can flourish in difficult places and symbolizes resourcefulness and endurance. Those two mean a lot to me as I'd been through kind of a rough period and got those as a little reminder to myself to think about things I'd been through before repeating them and that I'm much stronger than I sometimes give myself credit for.

My third doesn't have as much meaning to me, tbh. It's a really long and narrow phoenix that is on my left rib cage/side and goes from my hip to just under my boob. I had no other reason for getting it at all aside from the fact that I thought it was really pretty and colorful and I wanted some type of bird.

I have "Hallelujah" piano notes on my underarm and "Success Is The Best Revenge" on my forearm.

The notes are dedicated to my sister- whom I am close with due to our love for music and our parents not understanding our dreams. And the quote is directed towards my mom who would degrade everything I proudly showed her as a child.

Plan to get more. I really want Japanese Cherry Blossoms (I'm Japanese) and Birds of Paradise (My Grandma's favorite flower) intertwined with "Love yourself" in Japanese between them.

A little tree on the back of my head. Shaved a part of my hair off to do this (and my hair was loooong), it stands for my father, who has cancer and will die this year. The tree of life. Family.
And my chest piece which says: Dance In The Dark. By, ofcourse, Gaga. For me, it stands for something very special which totally reflects how I live and think. How you dance in the dark, all by yourself and when no one can see you, that's how you should always dance. And by dance, I mean, just live. Speak. Think. React.
