Have to agree with others by saying I too was slightly underwhelmed with he latest Nintendo Direct. I did enjoy the footage of Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 looks fun and X reminds me of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII’s way of playing so it’ll be one I may put on my Christmas list should it be out by then. Super Smash Bros. new character was a nice touch but predicted on many forums. The 3DS has some good titles coming up but I have to say that the Yoshi 3DS XL looks like a new colour with a few stickers on it, sorry.
To me it seems like a rush job and I think an XL like the Pikachu one would have been a much better fit than the one they have. Heck, even the mock version did a much better job than the one we have! The biggest annoyance was that Game Boy Advance games are coming to the Wii U and not the 3DS, which would be a much better fit. It just seems a weird choice and something echoed by many across all forums. It just doesn’t make sense to me and truth is it won’t help sell that many more.
There are a few things which are still missing: the account system which has been hinted at, the release of boxed games for the Wii U (two is not enough to draw those in who don’t have the Internet) and the stony silence on a Western Flipnote 3D front. I never got chance to try the DSi one but I’d like to give it a go (despite not being great at drawing!). To wait nearly three years is silly and despite me asking both Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo UK, they have both stayed silent.
Here’s hoping this Direct was a result to this being a quiet period and the next one will lay to rest some worries that fans have.
Who the hell reviews an alternate color for a Gameboy? I'm up till midnight posting on a pop music forum and even I'm shocked at how lame some people can be.
