Sadly. Also they don't know the difference between lose and loose. One of my teachers wrote something that had a lot of lose/loose errors.
Not to mention how serious education is in some schools over there. My friend told me that his school (in Southern Louisiana) got closed for 2 days for "possible snowfall" AND IT DIDN'T EVEN SNOW
