this song is fantastic. great melody, chorus, and it rocks hard at points. A live anthem in the making. I can definitely see the Brian Eno influence from this song, and I can't wait to hear the rest of what Eno and the band came up with.
It's okay... It's the first time I'd say their first single out of all their first singles from previous albums will really have to grow on me. Not that I personally care (because I love Coldplay for their musical craft), but this single is not exactly radio-friendly. I think it will chart well on Itunes but will probably not get much mainstream radio airplay. Should get some attention on rock formats though. Not a bad song, just not as big as I thought it would be. Don't go into listening to this with high expectations.
Not sure how well it would do in the mainstream though.
It's a brilliant song.
