When I use Melodyne, I use it to fix timing and slightly off vocals in a natural sense.
Auto-tune you can't really get as in-depth as you can with Melodyne, so the results are always much more uniform and drastic, which is what this thread is talking about.
Like, you wouldn't use auto-tune to fix a few errors, you'd use Melodyne for that, which isn't what this thread's about

Good that someone on this site knows what Melodyne is other than me though
