Why does every movie have to be a remake, a reboot or a film adaptation of an old tv show?!! I'm sure a couple out of the 7-8 billion people on this planet are capable of producing a completely original clown-killer film

Watched the original as a kid, LOVED IT. Grew up, read the book, LOVED IT EVEN MORE. Rewatched the movie, though about how spectacularly cheesy it was, and thought how cool it'd be if it were redone. Then this news came up YEARS ago, and I got so excited, but... there's been no new info in those years. Is there even anything new in this article? Last I heard, the director was considering splitting it up into 2 movies, one following the kids and 1 following them as grow ups, possibly centered around Bev.
It's been too long since new info came out, I hope it still happens

EDIT: the article didn't really give any new info. At all. Just that the director is ready, but shooting STILL hasn't begun and probably won't any time soon.

I say this to anyone who fears that a remake/reboot of It will "ruin" the original film: Read the book. The original is actually the ruining force at play here. Or...

Really, all I ask for is a It movie that more resembles the book. The book is probably my favorite King book, and I want to see it realized faithfully. Don't let me down...you know, if it does happen.
