this doesn't seem to be lypsyncing. You see, the background music went wrong right from the beginning, so mariah had to rush to catch up with it. The whole vocal backing track was screwed up leading to the incident. But anyway, i love the way she sang 'stop singing my part baby'. It's how a big artist is expected to deal with on-stage malfunction .

I think that in spite of what happened, she handled it nearly flawlessly. It also appears that she had intentions of singing, because she immediately started singing as soon as she realized what was going on. Some people like Britney or Ashlee (SNL), never had the intention of performing live. That's why Ashlee ran off stage. It's kind of hard to correct that malfunction when there's not a working mic. Anyway, while I cringe eveytime I see that video, I think Mariah makes up for it with the rest of the performances.
