I agree with the "good, quality R&B" statement. All R&B today sounds exactly the same. It's so stale, both in lyrics and production, and that's why it doesn't sell well. Back when it was popular in the early 2000's, there was variety in R&B and there was quality. Now virtually all R&B is so generic -- it all sounds like Trey Songz. There's a reason why "Royals" took off and why Drake does so well -- because their R&B-influenced records are lyrically updated and offer quality and variety that makes their music stand out and crossover. R&B just needs fresh ideas. (Remember "Bust Your Windows" from Jazmine Sullivan, not too long ago?) For instance, the fact that an artist like Sevyn Streeter is even a thing in R&B is a tragedy.

I agree with you about 80%.
Trey Songz is the PITS and the reason the genre became so stagnant, but we've posted R&B music that sound nothing like Trey Songz's dry ass mush.
Unless you're talking about traditional/mainstream R&B. Yes, that **** is dead.
pbR&B is what's in, or what's going to be what's in soon.
I met a real life Enya stan today at work and they annoyed the **** out of me.
I work in a library and this kid followed me around the whole time I was shelving books talking about her. He even pulled a book of Enya sheet music from his backpack
Local and Global need to be dropped. Those terms only apply to artists like Tiziano or Utada (no offense Kword -- at least they outsell Fridge in a single territory).
