Considering what kind of songs is able to hit #1, I am often glad Kelly has only 3 #1 (not to mention none of them is among her best songs).

Which Kelly's song (which didn't hit #1) deserved it the most in your opinion? I'd say the Breakaway trinity (SUBG + BTHE + BOY) and Catch My Breath. And Sober of course.

BTW, on wikipedia there's a new page for Wrapped In Red (song). Well, there's nothing new but it's nice to read about the flawless title track.

I think the first FOUR Breakaway singles should have been #1. I actually read somewhere a number of years later that had they used the chart rules of that time (I think it may have been 2008/9-ish?) that SUBG and BTHE both would have been #1.

Granted the chart rules are now totally different from 08/09, but still a nice tidbit I think.

SUGB got blocked by the biggest song of the decade, We Belong Together. It still finished in the Top 10 for that year and Top 50 for the decade (I think).

I agree. I mean she's great and I would completely understand someone saying she's the best, but the people saying she "kills everybody else combined", "she makes the other options irrelevant", like…come on.

Don't kill me, but I think Bey and Kelly are equal. Bey's technique, control and melismas are far better, but Kelly has more versatility, power and range.

She'd get 4th, just like Tamyra

In terms of being a vocalist, I feel they're equal. But, when it comes to singing, Kelly is simply better. And this is because her ability to emote is miles ahead better than almost anyone else in the industry, especially Beyoncé. Her ability to connect with a song and deliver the message of it is incredible.

MTE. While BEY is technically fabulous and is an outstanding performer, that's just it. She performs, she doesn't connect with the song and her audience at the same level as Kelly

Also, I feel like Beyoncé's technique sometimes destroys her performances because she tries too much to show it off. Melismas can easily do that to a song and when she overdoes it, it gets on my nerves more than anything else. Example:
