Vampires were only popular these days because they were prettier than in the past though.
If they actually looked like demons and had a dark style then I doubt that whole thing would've been such a trend, it would've never been as popular as it was in the 80's/90's if they did it 'right'.
While witches are always interesting because they can create them in every way possible, for example :
down to earth, 'normal' witches like in Charmed
bitchy, hilarious & fashionable witches like in AHS : Coven
or ugly witches like in many movies.
As for zombies, I never understood the hype, they're so boring.
Same goes for werewolves.
