She's entitled to her opinions. Everyone else is entitled to call her out and attack her opinions if they so wish. We're entitled to our opinions too.

That's kind of a meaningless statement, considering everyone has the "right" to act whatever way they want. You have the "right" to be a racist and think women shouldn't be allowed to leave the kitchen. That doesn't mean anyone else has to respect your opinion.

You seem to think that people can exist in a bubble where their actions won't have consequences or reactions. That's now how the world works. If you say something homophobic/offensive in 2014, there will be problems. Period.

It was unnecessary for her to write them that note, but I understand where she's coming from. Even the people who aren't against gay marriage, doesn't always mean they want their own children to be gay.

At 7 years old, a child is highly influenced by what they see in their environment. Truth is, most parents want their children to be straight, get married, have kids of their own and not be subject to the stigmas that come with being gay.

I'm not saying I agree with her, but I understand her rationale.
