I was open & honest about who I was all throughout high-school & was one of the voices of our anti-bullying groups, my parents forced me out of home upon finding out, & I now live openly & happily with my boyfriend of 2 years. But I think coming out is a good thing. Obviously it's a personal choice and whatnot, but the fact is... gay people ARE different than straight people and pretending like there's no difference can be very harmful.

And of course not all Gay men think & act like me. I never claimed to be some "greater voice for the gays". I am speaking for myself. You are free to either agree or disagree - From which then a healthy discussion is spawned. That's the point of a forum.

Like you said, not all gay people are alike. Some will praise him to the high heavens & others will find it tacky and misplaced.
