Gravity was an excellent meditation on what it is to be alive. Its themes of existentialism are honestly way too high brow for most filmgoers. Thankfully everyone realized the visual spectacle alone makes it the film of the year. By the time people realize what the movie was actually trying to say (which will likely take forever), Gravity will join 2001, Citizen Kane, and American Beauty in the lexicon of movies that are the ultimate meditations on life through film.
