It's not exclusive to ATRL.
I guess some people literally do not know how to spell said words correctly. Either that or they're just lazy.
It doesn't bother me though, I know what they're saying.
I think it's actually better here than it is among the general populace. I don't see nearly as many your/you're, there/their/they're, to/too, and so on errors as I do when I venture into Facebook or Twitter.
Not true, common sense will tell you that "you are" and "your" are completely different things. The same can be said about "their", "they are" and "there". And if you happen to have an issue with it, use the formal style and drop contractions.
