I hate the term 'Appropriating hip-hop.'. Music is inclusive not exclusive. If you have the ability to perform it than you have the privy to experiment with it musically.

Now walking around in grillz when 2 years ago your identitiy was as a long haired disney pop/country music bumpkin is another story.

I don't care if Regina Specktor starts beat boxing tmrw as long as it sounds good. But I'll blink for a second if she starts walking out slapping black woman's behinds in a **** with Biggie's face.

That said the song sucks and he should just .. stick with whatever it is he does since at least he does that somewhat well. Or at least keep working on this to produce something of value.
