This. It's become so normal here that people think your hair is ugly if you keep it natural. Girls feel the need to wear extensions and weaves and hide their natural hair to feel like the standard definition of "beauty". A shame, really

It's not that a lot of black people don't find their hair attractive, it's just that weave can be low maintenance, among other reasons.

Also depends on where your African roots are. I have plenty of black friends with straight, or wavy hair, but people seem to forget about them.

Its not just black women, its all women. Women are made to believe having short hair or showing your natural hair isn't beautiful which results in wearing weaves. I also don't like how "weaves/tracks" is the term used for black women, and "extensions" is used for white women when in my opinion they're the same thing and its neither of their real hair

Why are so many people responding with "it's not just black women, it's all women" and posting pics of some white celebrities as examples? The vast majority of average women around the world do not wear wigs, weaves or extensions.
