With more than one million votes cast from around the globe, the website announced their list on Tuesday. The top ten of the Most Desirable Women of 2014 includes:
1. Emilia Clarke
2. Alison Brie
3. Model/actress Emily Ratajkowski
4. Jennifer Lawrence
5. Emma Watson
6. Kate Upton
7. Kerry Washington
8. Amy Adams
9. Margot Robbie
10. Kate Moss

“We ask both the readers and the staff to take more than just sex appeal into account. We ask them to consider all the character traits they would look for in a significant other, including personality, ambition, talent, and potential for the year ahead. From our point of view, the fact that Miley made the list, and the slot that she finished in, really speaks to this diverse criteria. Within the content team, we didn’t think that she deserved to make the list at all, and we voted accordingly,” James explained, noting that the staff decided to editorially place Miley in the final slot, after readers had voted her much higher on the list.
“Don’t get me wrong, we do think that she’s attractive, ambitious and talented; we also think she will have a big year in 2014. However, she seems thrives on bad publicity and polarizing behaviors, and this is deeply undesirable. AskMen believes desirability consists of a combination of attractive physical and intellectual qualities — the ability to stir up controversy to the extent that it defines your year is not one of them,” he added. “AskMen readers, on the other hand, seemed to take other criteria into greater account. Again, there’s no question that Miley is physically attractive, and we believe it was because of that that our readers voted her into the middle of the pack. Combining their votes with ours ended with her sitting at #99 on the list. An apt position, when you consider that for individual men, she’s either totally on the desirable list or totally off it.”
