CGI effects? Darling, it was filmed in the 60's when computers were not used for visual effects. And, actually the visual effects were pretty good for that time period because of the amount of effort needed to produce them. Also, without Bewitched, there probably wouldn't be as many witches on T.V. To have witchcraft being the topic of a T.V. show was pretty big for the 60's. Charmed wouldn't have been filmed without Bewitched preceding it.

Which brings me back to my point of the stone age and pop culture being in two completely different time periods.

First off, the stone age wasn't in the 60's. And, kindly read the fifth content entitled "In Popular Culture" in the above link. Bewitched was and always will be a pop-culture reference and is named one of the best T.V. shows of all time. It was also popular in its time (contrary to what some are claiming). Charmed was successful too and it paved the way for witches in recent T.V. shows with its CGI effects and story-lines. It did, however, not popularize witches in pop-culture. Regarding T.V., it was, is, and always be Bewitched. End thread.
