Nicki has never had any competition, she came in at the right time and took over who's her comp ? (Azealia? Iggy?) . Before Nicki we had Trina, Lil Mama, and Remy Ma circa 2006-2008. Then before then we had Eve, Foxy, Lil Kim, Missy, Da Brat, Shawnna, Jacki-O, Trina (etc)

Oddly enough, I think that had she had the right mentor... She would have been the sole female rapper to emerge from the shambles that is late 90s/early 2000s female rap and survive into the 2010s.
