I'm working on a project for school and my topic is benefits of radio. What do you think are benefits of radio, and if you have any sites with great info, please post links.
Some examples: music discovery, easy listening, news...
Just anything that argues that it is better to listen to the radio than to listen to music from your phone while driving. I really appreciate any help I get.
I like it better because then I know what songs are new and popular right now. Plus I get songs to grow on me after hearing them on the radio for a while. If I was just listening to an iPhone, I feel like it would always be the same songs, and I wouldn't be discovering as many new songs.
When I'm in the car, I only listen to the radio.
It allows me to hear what new music is out, and I really love listening to Ryan Seacrest's show for pop culture news / artist interviews.
I'm always using the Shazam application when I'm in my car.
Going to assume that the music on the iPhone is all locally stored, and not being streamed.
So, benefits of radio:
Clean versions, if that's your thing.
Plays a variety of music, while your music taste can't expand when you listen to your own library.
Helps your fave
Lasts longer than an iPhone
Always there
Knowing what's popular in your area
Well,
-There's more variation
-Can potentially broaden your music
-Breaks in between songs potentially have news and other topical information that you can benefit from (depending on the radio station)
-Safety | you wont feel the urge to change a song currently playing on your mobile phone because you aren't given the opportunity with radio .
-You can find out whats popular something you may or not have found without the help of radio
-Also for some strange reason music sounds better when you hear it on radio
-Can be a more pleasurable experience because you have a radio presenter(s) guiding you through the songs while also adding more fun and humor.
