1984 was a blockbuster year in music/movie and the entertainment industry in general. Lets take some time to celebrate 30 years since we were gifted with the these staples in out entertainment industry.

Tetris- The blockbuster game that has gone on to be hailed as one of the most iconic games in American history turns 30 years old this year.

Prince's Purple rain era- The Purple rain era which has gone down to be one of the biggest eras in music history turns 30 years old this year. The diamond album has gone on to sell 20+ million copies WW. This also marks 30 years since "When Doves Cry " and "Lets Get Crazy". The former went on to be the #1 song of 1984 in America.

MJ's visit to the White House- In May of 1984 Michael would be presented the Presidential Public Safety Communication Award by President Ronald Reagan for contributing "Beat It", a smash hit in 1983 for a public service campaign against teen drinking and driving.

The MTV Video Music Awards- This year marks 30 years since the first MTV awards were held. The awards have gone on to become one of Music's most important nights of the year and through the years have given us many iconic, moments and performances to think remember.

Madonna's "Like A Virgin" Era- How could we mention the MTV award without bringing attention to the Queen herself. 2014 makes 30 years since the materiel girl took the world by storm beginning with her controversial performance of "Like A Virgin" at the first MTV awards in September on 1984. The song would go onto sit atop BB Hot 100 for 6 weeks and has gone on to become her signature hit. From the hair, The outfits, the colors and the music Madonna had made it known she was here and the world had noticed.

The Cosby Show- The Cosby show hits the 30 year mark this year as well. The show that has gone on to become one of the highest rated shows in American history had come to challenge the often held stereotypes about the African American Family. It is hailed as one of the greatest shows in American history and though 1984 is long gone the show still holds relevance in todays society and is popular with the youths of today as well.

The Mac- In January of 1984 Apple unveiled the Mac, The computer though very primitive by todays standards was sold at a price of $2,495, which today is $5,600. The Mac began a revolution in personal computing that is still growing till this day. Congrats to the guys at Apple and RIP to Steve Jobs.

TMNT- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles celebrates its 30th year in 2014. Though the animated series did not start till 1987 the comic kicked off a love affair with the public that has lasted till this day. The four lovable turtles revolutionized the genre of action adventure for children everywhere and its safe to say they are a part of everybody's childhood. Congrats Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo and of course Master Splinter.

Private Dance- The Queen of Rock "n" Roll Tina Turner came back strong in 1984 with her comeback album "Private Dancer", the album followed her disclosure to the public about the abuse she suffered under Ike Turner. "What's Love Got To Do with It" would go on to be one of 1984's biggest hits and the album would be Tina's biggest seller.

LeBron James- Basketballs biggest star, arguably, turns 30 years old this year, LeBron who is one of the biggest public figures and celebrities in the world hits the milestone coinciding with the his domination of the sport. The "Heat" star is one of the most recognizable figures in sports. Congratulations LeBron.

The Terminator- This iconic movie turns 30 years old this year. It has gone on to be one of the most instantly recognizable movies in entertainment history. The movie would push Arnold Schwarzenegger the bodybuilder to unspeakable heights in popularity. Congrats Terminator.

Michaels Accident with Pepsi- The King of Pop suffered an unfortunate accident 30 years ago
on the set of a Pepsi commercial which set fire to his hair. Michael was unharmed in the accident but
will have to suffer its affects later.
However we applaud the most iconic accident in a commercial in American TV history.
