I think that, before banning someone, they should get a warning telling them to stop doing whatever they're doing. For example, I got banned and I wasn't sure of the reason :-/ I think this way, ATRL would be much better.
I miss the warnings. People had basically a few strikes and then they were banned. It made more sense. I wish they could come back. People used to bitch at me when I warned them though it was so annoying it's like just take it and deal
There's a new system in the new vBulletin called "infractions" which is basically the same thing as warnings. Who knows if anyone will use it or even what our policy will be about that, but there you go.
That is exactly what ATRL needs to bring back. I have been banned so many times without even knowing why and without a warning. Mods really need to give warnings.

Warnings don't work. Why do you think cops give very few warnings. The reason is because without punishment, you will likely do it again until the warnings run out and you are finally punished.

Well they should give warnings, and if the person is gonna act like a jackass about it than ban them. That should work.
