Do ya'll think Divergent will finally break this curse of doomed YA movie adaptations, or will that disappoint as well? I think it'll definitely do better than the recent YA disasters but we'll see!

Divergent will flop as well too. knew it from the first time I saw the trailer. just like I did with, Frankenstein and Hercules, and Vampire Academy. They ALL SCREAM flop.
Good. It looks terrible and I have no idea why these teens are thinking it looks hilarious and funny. I saw the trailer in theaters and it was just awkward, weird and unnecessary. These studio people need to get their act together. Also, the tag line "They suck at school"? Cringeworthy all around.
I just saw it and it was pretty good. Zoey was amazing as Rose! However I felt the scenes moved too fast and the writing was a bit meh at times. But other then that, it was better than Beautiful Creatures & The Mortal Instruments. It had some great one liners and didn't take it self too seriously.
I was expecting it to underperform tho since people are over vampires.
[CENTER]Divergent is a certain flop. It looks so bland. And the way Summit are so confident about it is also tragic. They've greenlit the sequel for next year, they've arranged the soundtrack.
It will be City of Bones scenario all over again.
The only new dystopian/YA film I can see being a mild success is The Maze Runner, due to it's more intriguing concept, but tbh I think the Hunger Games is a one off.[CENTER]
