Violent protests by thousands of unpaid workers in a northern Bosnian city ( Tuzla ) spread to other parts of the country. The demonstrations have reached capital Sarajevo, and other cities: Zenica, Mostar and Bihac. The protesters in Sarajevo, the capital, threw eggs at the local government building and many of them are torched. More than 130 people, including 104 police officers, were injured on Thursday. The protests have bubbled up out of long-simmering discontent at a sluggish economy, mismanagement, corruption and unemployment, which is rising irresistibly towards 30%. Bosnia has been hamstrung by political infighting and deadlock between its three main ethnic groups – Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs – in the near 20 years since its three-year civil war ended in 1995.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has the lowest Gross Domestic Product, GDP, per capita and the lowest Actual Individual Consumption, of 37 European countries and the average salary is €394 per month
