***** Riot member split over Madonna concert appearance
Quote:
Six members of Russian punk group ***** Riot on Thursday accused their previously imprisoned bandmates of undermining the group's ideals by appearing at a charity concert introduced by Madonna.
A letter posted on the group's blog lashed out at Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina for taking part in the concert organised by Amnesty International in New York on Wednesday.
Madonna introduced the women, who were dressed in tunics with crucifixes emblazoned on the front.
They delivered a furious and emotional rebuke of the regime of Vladimir Putin, Russian President, chanting "Russia will be free!" to an ecstatic crowd.
But the appearance was poorly received by others in the group, which has a fluctuating membership that has never been fully revealed.
"They have said in every interview that they have quit the group and no longer represent ***** Riot," said the letter. "But all of their appearances are announced as appearances by ***** Riot."
they probably view Madonna as a promotion-hungry s*** stirrer when in fact she has put a lot of effort into her activism against the Russian regime and it's ungrateful for some members of ***** Riot to attack her for it.

It doesn't say anywhere in the article that they attacked Madonna? They just said they were confused because of those 2 members using the ***** Riot name even though they said they quit.
They kinda have a point. They quit the group, so to do appearences everywhere under their name, is like taking advantage of the situation, which is logicalm but must be bitter to the remaining members.
I'm so fed up w/ these ******* & foreign celebrities who support them without actual knowledge of what have they actually done.
They were 16 months in prison for playing a vulgar song against Putins regime (and its support by orthodox church) in Moscow cathedral during a mass. Am I missing something?
you're a madonna fan, clearly. but some of your topic titles..
this proves that it's not about madonna in particular:
"They have said in every interview that they have quit the group and no longer represent ***** Riot," said the letter. "But all of their appearances are announced as appearances by ***** Riot."
The two members QUIT ***** riot but always get introduced as the members of ***** riot. that is the problem. madonna's got nothing to do with it.
