I don't think Ed can be compared to Katy tbh. Ed is appealing to a different market than Katy is.
Comparing Ellie to Katy, Ellie has sold 753.750 copies (including a re-release) in 69 weeks, averaging at just under 11k a week, while Katy sold 258k in 15 weeks, averaging at just over 17k.
Katy is doing just fine
